SENIOR CHOIR – 2013

In 2013, the senior choir reached new levels of success.  With 48 very talented members, the choir almost had no limits and due to the many committed members, we could work very productively from the very start of the year.

We introduced a Choir Committee this year to assist in the general order and running of the choir.  The committee consists of four choir members in Grade 11 or 12.  This year the committee consisted of the following learners:

Chairperson:      Gofoana Bogatsu

Registrar:             Precious Kgatlhanye

Advertising:        Gift Mothusi

Uniform:              Sharon Tshweu

I would like to give my warmest word of thanks to these four people.  As a team you were able to make running the choir pleasantly easy.  Your shoes will not easily be filled.

The senior choir had a camp in 2013, which will hopefully become an annual event.  The camp allows the choir to improve their voice quality and also study the music for the Eisteddfod in May, and give us a chance to practice new songs that will enlarge our repertoire.

The senior choir entered the South African Schools choral Eisteddfod in 2013.  In contrast with the past years, we entered the prescribed music category.  Although we did not win, we achieved a 3rd position in the Rustenburg Area Office competition.  This is quite an achievement since it was our first entry into this category.

We are looking forward to a new and exciting year in 2014.  Thank you to the choir committee, every member and parent of members. Without you, I would not be able to live out my passion for music and seeing people enjoy the wonderful privilege that music brings to our lives.  To Mr Tauté and all the staff that assisted me this year, THANK YOU!  Your assistance made 2013 a year to remember.

Junior Choir 2013

The Junior Choir has once again done us proud in 2013. We entered in the prescribed music section, at the choir Eisteddfod, and did our utmost best. In the Area competition, we were placed second in the Afrikaans section and third in the African section.

We are very proud of the choir, considering this was their first time competing in the prescribed music section.

I would like to thank the boys and girls, for their commitment and dedication this year. A big thank you must go to our voice coach, Mr Lebotse, for his hard work and dedication.

Thank you must also go to Mr Taute and Ms Rasesemola for their support.

We look forward to a great 2014

Ms M. Magile
